Vijay Mallya made a successful bid to own a Formula One team by taking stake in the Spyker Team in September 2007. . Mallya along with the Mol family has established a joint-venture company called Orange India Holdings (OIH). The 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship season will see a newly formed Force India Formula One team. "Owning an F1 team now, I am more than keen to bring it to India," said Mallya. In this backdrop, hosting an Indian Grand Prix now looks a possibility. New Delhi has been granted an F1 race in 2009 provided it met the conditions laid down by racing supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
