Mayawati becomes CM again! BSP leader Mayawati managed to confound all pundits and won a simple majority in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly to become chief minister. This is the fourth time that she has come to power in the State. She managed to shed the pro-lower castes tag to garner support from the upper echelons of society to win the election. Mayawati was sworn in on the June 13.
