Nuclear Deal Soap

Nuclear Deal Soap
For the most part of 2007 the communist allies kept the UPA Govt on the tenterhooks over the Indo-US nuclear deal. When Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that if the deal came to a naught, it would not be the end of the world, it was largely understood that he had in a way given in to the Left's pulls and pressures. The picture shows United Progressive Alliance and Left parties' leaders leaving the office of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee (second right) after a meeting in New Delhi.
